BANGKOK ─ CentralWorld re-opens today.
Today Central Pattana Public Company Limited (“CPN”) re-opens CentralWorld Shopping Complex. An approximately 80% of retail space now resumes for business with an occupancy rate of 80%. The remaining retail area is scheduled to re-open in December, and Zen Department Store in the third quarter of 2011.
CPN’s President & CEO, Kobchai Chirathivat, said: “CentralWorld was awarded as the world’s best shopping and lifestyle shopping centre by the International Council of Shopping Centers. For structural safety, the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority’s Public Works Department and the Engineering Institute of Thailand have thoroughly inspected CentralWorld and certified its structural safety. Today the newly renovated CentralWorld returns even better and more beautiful, and promises visitors a more rewarding experience.”
CentralWorld is the largest lifestyle shopping complex in Southeast Asia with 550,000 square meters of retail space. CentralWorld’s anchor stores include Zen Department Store, Isetan Department Store, SuperSports, SF World Cinema, Powerbuy, B2S, as well as flagship stores and more than 500 retail stores and 100 restaurants. It also houses CentralWorld Square which is an outdoor activity square of 8,000 square metres.
